Fintech Norway is an nonprofit organisation working to improve industry conditions for all the independent FinTech companies in Norway. Fintech Norway is an initiative looking to facilitate cooperation and networking so that our members can find solutions together. The organization was founded in 2020 and began as an initiative to accelerate the banks' work with PSD2 and open banking - but Fintech Norway has since grown to become much more than just an "PSD2 organisation", and we now represent all the different industries within FinTech in Norway. We are an organisation created by and for our members - where they set the agenda.
The main purpose of Fintech Norway is to ensure good regulatory framework conditions for FinTech's in Norway. With this, we want to create an equal playing field with a fair and impartial judge. This is where it all starts and enables FinTech's to compete on innovation and value propositions. Our vision is that Fintech Norway will be a challenger against the established and constitute a voice in the public debate for our members. Together we will fight the battles that are difficult to fight alone, solve challenges and push boundaries. Overall, our voices are getting louder!
To ensure favorable industry conditions and development, we have established good communication lines to the Financial Supervisory Authority, the Norwegian Competition Authority, banks, and other relevant players. Fintech Norway has a voice that is heard in the FinTech ecosystem and is already an organisation that authorities and decision-makers turn to for advice regarding the needs of the industry. We are also part of a bigger European network of networks through our board position at the European Digital Finance Association, ensuring that our members' voice is also heard in Brussels and the EU. Most importantly - we are a network for our members. Active members will enjoy the greatest benefits of their membership as Fintech Norway facilitates discussions, exchange of experience, and knowledge sharing within several topics such as PSD2, AML, eID, CBDC and authentication. In addition, we arrange our own events for knowledge sharing and network building.
Fintech Norway has: • An infrastructure with forums and communication lines to all the major players • Accelerated the PSD2 work in Norway by 1-2 years. • Regular meetings with the Financial Supervisory Authority every 6 weeks • An active ecosystem where you can report issues efficiently, get feedback and engage in discussions. • On behalf of Norwegian FinTech’s taken a leading role in the 33report initiative to simplify and standradize reporting on banks' PSD2 interface. As a result, it has become easier to report errors and deficiencies in the banks' APIs. Read more about 33report here www.33report.eu.
